Power to the People (1971)
(John Lennon)
Power to the people, power to the people, power to the people.
I like to tell something.
Are You Lonesome Tonight? (1926)
(words & music by Roy Turk and Lou Handman)
Are you lonesome tonight,
do you miss me tonight?
Are you sorry we drifted apart?
Do the chairs in your parlor
seem empty and bare?
Do the gaze at your doorstep
and picture me there?
Is your heart filled with pain,
shall I come back again?
Tell me dear, are you lonesome tonight?
Lu lu lu...
Ladies and gentlemen, tut, my name is Yuya Uchida, tut. I was born in Kobe, 1999...tut! The time was after second war, it's the Japan was fucking confusing, and I was confusing too.
There was suddenly, I was coming to the big Tokyo City, with my rock 'n' roll guitar together.
I was playing, uh, Nichigeki Western Carnival with my band together. And step by step, and time was changing.
And, I went to uh..., tut, Paris, and Vienna, and Madrid, and Nuremberg, and Munich, then back to Paris. Then I was staying in Paris only six months.
But I can speak very well, French, for example, [speaking French], tut... Pardon.
Then back to Tokyo City. The time was, once again changing, and rock 'n' roll story were changing too. The time was coming, uh, Rolling Stones, and Beatles, and (King) Crimson, Pink Floyd, Jefferson Starship, etc..., and Frank Zappa too.
Then I made a band called Flowers. And uh... tut, playing with Joe Yamanake, and uh after the creation, we went to uh, Canada, and we live in Tronto years and a half, and back to New York City...tut.
Then back to Tokyo City again, but time was folk type music was very popular in whole world, for example, like Blowin' In the Wind, look like Japanese, ah no, uh, so many musicians were playing, then rock 'n' roll is over.
Once again time was changing, I make a new band called uh...tut, Paris Texas, now I'm playing only rock 'n' roll.
Suddenly, uh, Tokyo Governor's election was coming. Now famous pro-wrestler, I was respect him, but he can't do it.
Ladies and gentleman, I'm just only a rock 'n' roll. But I have my passion, I have my heart, I have my justice. I don't have no idea but I have my rock 'n' roll story. Please listen.
